One of Durham’s most anticipated political gatherings is back. Bourbon & Bow Ties 2025 will take place on Thursday, September 19, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Mystic Farm & Distillery (1212 N Mineral Springs Road, Durham, NC 27703).

Now in its sixth year, Bourbon & Bow Ties has become a signature event blending community, organizing, and a healthy dose of Southern charm, hosted by NC State Representative Zack Hawkins.

Guests can look forward to an evening of good food, good bourbon, good friends, and good politics, all in support of building momentum for Democrats at a pivotal moment in North Carolina.

This year’s event will feature special guest Attorney General Jeff Jackson, along with honorees Michael Regan, former Administrator of the EPA; and Canton Mayor Zeb Smathers, who was recognized for his leadership during Hurricane Helene recovery in western North Carolina.

The program will also highlight Durham Public Schools Teachers of the Year and spotlight community organizations working to protect immigrant families against harmful federal overreach.

Organizers note that the funds raised will go directly toward bolstering turnout in a critical midterm Senate race and defending Governor Josh Stein’s veto in Raleigh.

“It’s been a crazy year, but Bourbon & Bow Ties is our chance to build momentum and resources ahead of a critical time for our community and our state,” a recent email announcement reads.

With tickets selling quickly, organizers encourage supporters to secure their spot soon. The event has grown stronger each year, and 2025 promises to be no exception.

Tickets are available now.

Don’t miss this once-a-year celebration of community, politics, and purpose.
